Elizabeth I:
  • Ruled England from 1533-1603, known as the Golden Age
  • She was the daughter of Henry VIII and his second wife. Inherited the throne when Mary,
her half-sister, was removed from the line of succesion.
  • She was Protestant, but believed in religious toleration.
  • She had a positive impact on England because she re-established the Protestant Church.
  • She was deticated to her country in a way few monarchs ever were, had a mind of a political genious, and was very popular.
  • She was most famous for proving that a woman could lead in war as well as any man after her battle with King Pillip I.
